Wilkins Tipton sponsored its annual Workers’ Compensation Seminar in Jackson recently with professionals from Mississippi, Louisiana and Florida attending.
Highlighting the event were presentations by Pete Mills from Rehab, Inc. on "Return to Work Issues" and Bert Wallace from the Mississippi Attorney General's Office on "Workers' Compensation Fraud."
Other speakers and topics included Leland Smith, "Legal Aspects of Return to Work Issues;" Jay McLemore, "Extra Territorial Jurisdiction - Mississippi & Tennessee;" Bill Patterson, "Handling the Individual Hearing Loss Claim;" Sandy Doty, "Personal Comfort Doctrine;" Dan Baker, "Legal Aspects of Mental Injury Claims;" Bobby Stephenson, "Exclusive Remedy;" Joe Wilkins, "Scheduled Members;" and Bill Patterson, "Heart Attack Claims."
Mississippi Workers’ Compensation Commission Chairman Liles Williams also made remarks prior to the luncheon.
Opening remarks were made by Mr. Wilkins, senior workers’ compensation attorney for the firm.
The 2011 seminar will be held Thursday, May 12 at the Hilton Hotel on County Line Road in Jackson.
